Self-doubt is one of the most crippling things you can have. It’s also very common. Even if you have a lot of belief in other people, it can be hard to keep that positivity for yourself. But that doesn’t mean you’re doomed to live with self-doubt forever. There are plenty of strategies and tips that can help you eliminate self-doubt from your life…
Trace the Roots of Self-Doubt: This is one of the first steps you have to take when overcoming self-doubt, but it’s also one of the hardest. Many people in the world can be tough on themselves and feel like they’re unworthy of success.
When you have a self-doubt that you can’t get rid of, steps have to be taken for you to move past it. If you don’t put in the effort, and acknowledge where your self-doubt is coming from, you’ll have trouble getting rid of it. Your self-doubt may stem from an abusive childhood, an unsupportive spouse, or a toxic co-worker who dumps everything on you. Ask God to show you where your self-doubt originated from and pay attention from the first thought that comes up or images that appear in your mind.
Stop Comparing : Don’t compare your life to someone else’s. Not only can it create jealousy and discord, but it always leaves you feeling less than someone else.
Instead, try comparing where you are now to where you have been before. Maybe you’re not where you want to be, but are you closer than you were a year ago or five years ago? Comparing your present to your past is a great way to see how much you’ve grown and achieved.
Remember Your Path Isn’t Set in Stone: While life doesn’t have a delete button, you do have the ability to change it when you want. If you don’t like the path you’re on, you’re allowed to press edit.
If you like to plan things out well in advance, you may have noticed that these plans don’t always work the way you envisioned them, and that’s okay. No matter your path, as long as you’re learning and growing, self-doubt has a harder time carving its way into you.

Silence Your Inner Critic: This is another tough part of self-doubt. The inner critic in us all allows us to choose our words a bit more carefully and be cautious in making decisions. But that inner critic can also smother creativity and make you feel terrible about yourself. If you’re giving too much free reign to your inner critic, take some steps to silence that self-doubt.
Acknowledge that your inner critic only tells you part of the story. The other part should come from you, and should be uplifting and kind. Don’t take what your inner critic says as the absolute truth, because it never is.
Your inner critic is designed to keep you safe, but you can feed it so much that it begins to have a negative effect on your life. Learn to say no to your inner critic and follow your heart instead.
Your self-doubt doesn’t have to control your life anymore. You can thank self-doubt for trying to keep you safe. Then take back your power and make decisions based on your goals and dreams, instead of your fears. Ask God to help restore that power within you.

You of little faith, why did you doubt?

Matthew 14:28-31

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
