![]() Are you a passionate woman who has a zeal for life but there is something stopping you from fully experiencing that life? You may or may not know what this is yet this thing has cost you a lot in terms of lost hope, lost opportunities and happiness. Your happiness matters, it is the one ingredient for your success at work, relationships and at life in general. I’m compelled to share these insights with you as I have experienced the power of self - healing. So what does this entail: Healing your psyche or mind. This involves your thoughts and how your brain processes and makes sense of your surroundings. When you are sick in mind, your whole life seems to be going “Up - side down” i.e. What you perceive as reality may not be so. Have you ever been in the company of other people or your family and thought to yourself – “Everybody hates me here, that is why they are behaving in strange ways.” yet you could be mistaken and the opposite is true. Usually when someone has gone through traumatic experiences such as the loss of a loved one or an accident they are robbed of a part that they thought was vital for their self - esteem. Perhaps you have been abused either as a child or an adult and so in your mind, the world is cruel so you need to struggle to make it, or you just hide away or you hibernate from life. You keep a low profile. So healing your mind involves immersing yourself in new knowledge, experiences and encounters that seem to paint a different picture. I once read a book; Change your mind change your life by …G. G Jampolsky, M.D., and Diane V. Cirincione and I was challenged to start thinking differently. The authors describe how just changing the way we think in itself is the first step in healing ourselves and changing our lives. When I decided to try it, it seemed strange that I could monitor and control my thoughts. To do this you have to be conscious of what you are doing. Prayer or meditation helps as it alters the state of the mind temporarily. Then from an altered state you have to say positive affirmations that boost your confidence. Our belief system is a result of conditioning from past events or fears passed down from generation to generation and they are controlled by the subconscious mind. So to change this we have to engage our conscious mind to counter what the subconscious is saying. For example: If you encounter a situation where you say to yourself, “I will not do this because I’m not good enough” immediately change the thought to “I can do this, I am good enough.” You have to be conscious to catch the subconscious thought in its track and reverse it. If you do this for 30 days – you will come out at the other end with positive healthy thoughts. In the next article we will cover healing your emotions. Sometimes it is not easy to work on your own healing and succeed. This is why in 2017 at WHEC we have started The Healing Circle. This is an exclusive regular gathering of women who think or believe that they could be more or do more than what they are currently doing in life. These are women who may have a career, business or any other gainful employment and yet life is just a struggle. Others may actually be struggling to have or maintain relationships and so believe that they may be under a curse or demonic oppression. These women are mature and capable of making their own decisions but need help in healing from afflictions that deny them happiness. Is your life a struggle from year to year despite all your efforts? Are you successful in one area of your life yet the other areas seem elusive? Do you want to be in control of your life and thus your happiness? Our pilot group will be in Harare. Join us in 2017 at The Healing Circle. For more details Contct Us .
